A new year, verging on a new month, and a well-deserved new start.
The Canterbury experience is starting to loose it's once glossy appeal, and the obvious cracks in life are beginning to show - two weeks into a new term finds me already behind on my reading, virtually penniless, and almost definately an insomniac.. Not quite the perfect Geoffrey Chaucer tale, hey!
However, being not one to complain, I thought this new blog should concentrate on the silver lining of Southern life..
So, where to begin?
The castle is still as untidy as ever, not through want or trying. The temperature, thankfully, has started to warm up both inside and out of the walls, and spring sunshine looks like it's on the not-so-far-off arrival. Hurrah!
The trees are still bare outside the window though, and the wind still takes my breath away on the long walk up the killer-hill to campus..
As for university life, well - it seems that 2010 has seen very little of the party-girl lifestyle I long for, and for the first time in what seems like forever, I spent both my Friday AND Saturday night's indoors with sTeVie and Lemsip as my best friends, rather than painting the town red with old flame's Gordon and Schweppes..
Finally though, I've watched the gospel that is Breakfast at Tiffany's (twice) ! And so it seems that this weekend my film-education, my bank balance, and most probably my liver functions in later life have reaped the rewards of my dull behaviour. 2010, and i'm seeing the bright side.
